    Just curious, what is the sound like from an un-opened package of tostito's? I think having a deflated and clipped package is giving an unfair comparison.

    I actually did have someone else ask me that same question. I did try it with an unopened bag of chips and found it was only 1-3 decibels louder….not enough to disguise the overwhelming sound coming out of Sun Chips. I guess if you want to make positive changes in the environment, you gotta be loud! Not such a bad thing.

    Assuming you did this for a full, 8-hour workday, yes the noise level could be damaging. However, I’m inclined to think
    that anoyone ripping open Sun Chips all day long is likely to have broader health issues than noise-induced hearing loss :) . Still, interesting to see- I knew the bag was noisy, but wouldn’t have guessed that loud!

    Me either….it was a fun little experiment. Not really scientific, but there is a clear difference in the sound.

    The other day I was sitting in airplane cabin, buckled up and ready for take-off. The flight attendants on the PA advised us that all cellphones and hand held devices were to be turned off, and that SunChips were not be to eaten during take-off and landing!

      That is awesome…I’m glad most people have a sense of humor about this bag. I really wish they would bring it back and market the fact that it’s loud! They are sitting on a Gold Mine and don’t realize it. Sometimes the irrational approach is best.
